Though cash donations take care of bulk-food needs and necessities such as transportation for pickup and deliveries, food donations also play an important role. Food drives can provide more-healthful and higher-quality foods than bulk buys, and provide a greater diversity of foods.
“(Food drives) help us get different food, culturally appropriate food,” Those donations — such as pinto beans, corn flour, as well as lentils and rice — can be a big factor in serving the nation’s increasingly diverse population, some of which isn’t familiar with traditional American staples. In addition, some food banks, such as Feed the Poor , are trying to supply organic foods whenever possible.
Family Assistance Resource Center provides furniture to fire, natural disaster victims and to families who are economically challenged.
This enables families to live in dignity while they work to rebuild and move on with their lives.
FARC ensures that the aid goes to those who need it most.
Many of us have furnishings that we are no longer using. Let’s face it, as Americans we collect tons of “stuff” and when we don’t use our stuff – it gets lonely for a family that can truly appreciate it!
Family Assistance Resource Center can give your furniture a new life and help a family in need.
If you have some furnishings that are feeling lonely or unloved, consider a contribution by contacting FARC by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling us at 973-573-2305. We only accept new or gently used undamaged furniture.
FARC provides families in need with free access to clothing and footwear through our "Mobile Boutique".
